Mission Statement:

 

Asian American Agriculture Society is dedicated to promote the exchange of farming knowledge, horticulture and food science. AAAS is also interested in co-development of agriculture and related technologies in the changing landscape in new metropolitan area. As central Maryland becomes increasingly urbanized, farmland utilization and agriculture sustainability become a critical concern for the well-being of this growing metropolitan community.

AAAS aims to bring diverse expertise and passion to build a vibrant network of talent and enterprises to prepare and to innovate for future farming in rural and urban settings.  Central Maryland has a long history in farming and is home for many food supply and processing businesses as well as brewery and distillery. The region is rich in resources and research to provide education in food science and to facilitate innovation for farming technology of tomorrow. In addition, the presence of large immigrant community in Maryland offers vast opportunities to bring in the best agricultural and food processing practices from around world.
